A-grade

With many new players to the club, Tatura A-grade team was beaten by a Shepparton Bears team that has been playing together for many years.

On the court Tatura’s endeavour and drive didn’t stop for the game.

Rachel Thomson played a strong game on the most experienced player on the court, and enjoyed the opportunity to show how her game has developed.

Christine Feehan and Hannah Austin were the driving force in Tatura’s attack.

Score: Shepparton Bears 63 defeated Tatura 15.

Best: Hannah Austin, Rachel Thomson and Christine Feehan.

B-grade

The team came up against a well-drilled side on Saturday.

At times there were some wonderful passages of play, but the consistency just wasn’t there.

The entire team tried hard for the four quarters.

Score: Shepparton Bears 75 defeated Tatura 15.

Best: Alison Roest, Beth Caldow and Sally Kerrins.

B-reserve

It was a good all-round team effort, with strong attacking play through the mid court at times.

The defenders worked hard for the four quarters, however, the Bears were a well-drilled unit that were simply too good on the day.

Score: Shepparton Bears 60 defeated Tatura 12.

Best: Hannah Watt, Abbey Walker and Jacinta Turgoose.

Under-17

Tatura got off to a slow start, however, after the second quarter their intensity picked up dramatically.

Tatura successfully broke the Bears’ defensive five multiple times, and were able to score on those turnovers.

The score did not reflect Tatura’s performance.

Score: Shepparton Bears 72 defeated Tatura 19.

Best: Claudia Mercuri, Siena Varapodia, and Ellie Serra.
