The Tatura Bowls Club’s open day kicked off the 2017-18 season.

The Tatura Bowls Club’s open day for the 2017-18 season was held on Sunday, September 17.

President Rob Crotty welcomed everyone and extended a special warm welcome to new members Joyce and Graham Andrus, Darryn Carpenter, Wally Sinclair, John Evans, Bo Miller and Mark Spencer.

Rob also welcomed back members for this season who were restricted from playing last year for various reasons.

Rob then asked Joyce Andrus to roll the kitty and Darryn Carpenter to put down the first bowl.

Teams of four were made up and two games were played on a lovely sunny afternoon.

At the completion, Rob decided that the score cards were irrelevant and he drew a name from the hat.

As a result, Joyce Andrus and her team were the winners.

The 60 and over rounds start on Wednesday, September 20, with the first game to be held at East Shepparton starting at 10am. Meet at the clubrooms at 9.15am and put your team on the noticeboard.

This Sunday is the annual shield grudge match against Mooroopna Golf Club at Mooroopna. Put your names on the noticeboard.

This is a great, fun day with a sausage sizzle at the completion of play.

Mid-week pennant starts on October 3, so put your name on the noticeboard.

There are events every weekend, so please check the boards and add your name.
