Lawn Bowls in Practice Match Challenge

With football finals in action and the warmer weather approaching, it was an early start for the lawn bowls to be dusted off and brought into play.

Shepparton Golf Bowls Club on Saturday hosted the visiting suburban side from the Altona Bowls Club to take on their division one side and also had the Tatura Bowls Club play a seconds side in a friendly practice match.

Other bowlers from Shepparton Golf competed against themselves for both rinks to be full of competitive bowls action. The weather on Saturday was most kind and with a warm sunny day and the greens running a treat all were looking for a socially friendly game of competitive bowls.

Following a welcome by Shepparton Golf president Richard Warburton the day commenced with a fine barbecue lunch and then straight into a 21-end practice match. A great day, great company and a realisation that the bowls season is not far off.
