It was another perfect day for golf as Merrigum golfers saw out winter with a par event.
There was a good turn-out for the day with players excited to be participating in everyone's favourite game.
Despite that, only one player managed to finish in the positives.
That player was Craig Doherty who won B-grade with a score of +1, two holes better than the next best in the A-grade winner.
Craig's win brought his handicap down by a little less than a shot and, while the portion he lost may not be enough to play off any less at Merrigum than he did on Saturday, that time will come, as he definitely has the ability to be playing off a handicap a lot less than his current 21.
John Fuller was the A-grade winner with a score of -1. John is one of those golfers who has the innate ability to nearly always be around the mark by perhaps not hitting the ball as far as some, but almost always being up the middle of the fairway.
Ball competition winners were Jeff Newham and Bruce Andrews, both with -2 and Bruce Brown and Ash Sanders both with -3.
Nearest the pins were won by Ash Sanders on the sixth, Bruce Brown on both the ninth and 14th and John Fuller on the jackpot 12th.
Tony Borrelli won the chook shed challenge finishing at 1 for the four holes and picked up some handy coin after the prize jackpotted from last week.
Saturday's event is Pinehurst for a change from the norm, so get a partner organised for that one.
